Septic Inspections

Why a Septic Inspection is Essential for Home Sales

While a septic inspection may not be required during a home sale, we strongly recommend it as a crucial step in protecting both buyers and sellers. A septic system is a significant component of a property, and its condition can greatly impact a home’s value and functionality. For buyers, an inspection provides peace of mind, ensuring there are no hidden issues like backups, leaks, or costly repairs waiting down the line. For sellers, it demonstrates transparency and helps avoid unexpected delays or disputes during the closing process. A professional inspection not only safeguards the transaction but also builds trust between all parties, making the sale smoother and more successful.

What Goes into a Septic Inspection

During the appointment, a technician will dig up the lid of the septic tank, dosing tank (if applicable) and pump each tank to verify the tanks are structurally sound. Following the pumping of the tank(s), the technician will locate the drainfield and system and dig up the ends to confirm water is draining properly to indicate the system is in proper working condition. After the visual inspection has been completed, the technician will recover the system and use our company logo flags to indicate the location of the tanks and drainfield. Following the appointment, a detailed septic inspection report will be provided along with pictures taken by the technician during the appointment. If an estimate is required, that will be provided as well.
